how to wind an automatic watch

How to wind an automatic watch is a key point before use. Below we take a Rolex replica watch as an example for your reference.

Step 1

First of all, before winding the watch, remember to take the watch off your wrist and do not subject the watch to any violent human movement, otherwise the mechanical system will be damaged.

Step 2

Take the Rolex men's automatic watch as an example. This is a sports watch with a screw-in waterproof crown. First, screw the crown counterclockwise for more than 3 times. You will feel the crown pop up automatically. The next step is to wind it clockwise for about 25 to 35 times to replenish the energy of the crown. For safety reasons, if you wind it clockwise for 25 times and it feels difficult to continue winding, just stop. Winding 25 times is enough. The number of windings depends on the condition of your watch.

Note: Winding 25 to 35 times depends on the energy consumption of your watch when you wear it for the first time. If you wear it frequently, the automatic watch only needs to be wound once, and the energy can be stored for at least 24 to 36 hours.

Step 3

Rolex has a date window. When you need to change the date, pull the crown out once and then turn the crown clockwise to set the date correctly.

Note: It is not recommended to set the date near 12 o'clock, otherwise the date wheel will be seriously damaged.

Step 4

Time setting, pull out the crown again to set the time, as you learned in step 3 is to pull it out once to set the date, setting the time will always be done in a clockwise direction, because this is a replica watch, you can only set the time counterclockwise when it is not in the 21:00~4:00 time range.

But don't worry too much when you set it a little bit counterclockwise within the above time range, as long as you set the time in a clockwise direction it is the best for the system.

Step 5

Always make sure to screw the crown back in with the proper force to avoid water pouring into the crown during daily use.

Step 6

Remember that your automatic watch needs your care every time you leave it, if you will only leave it for 1 day, remember to wind it at least 25 times after taking it off your wrist for 8 hours. Or you will keep it for half a month, remember to put it in a watch winder and keep it moving will make your watch last longer and you will not have to set the time for the next wear.

Daily precautions for wearing mechanical watches:

1. Although it is a sports watch, you cannot wear it when swimming or bathing, as water pressure will cause mechanical failure of the watch

2. Do not wear it for basketball or other intense vibration sports, as this will cause the movement to be over-wound and damaged

3. Always insist on adjusting the time and calendar clockwise, and slight counterclockwise operation is normal and non-destructive

4. For stainless steel watch metal straps, because the watch has mechanical lubricants, black relics will appear after long-term wear, so pay attention to cleaning

5. If it is not worn for a long time, it is recommended to place it in a watch shaker to ensure normal mechanical operation and accurate timekeeping
